16 Year Old Singer-Songwriter Madi Davis Cracks Top 100 iTunes Pop Chart with NBC'S "The Voice" Blind Audition Recording of "It's Too Late"
It's been a busy week for Chicago born and McKinney Texas bred Madi Davis. The 16 year old Singer-Songwriter made her television debut on NBC's "The Voice" Season 9 Monday Night to much fanfare. Judges Pharrell Williams and Gwen Stefani's lobbying highlighted an exciting evening for the teen FOLK artist. "I was completely overwhelmed by their reaction and excited that they liked my performance" said Madi, "It is a little intimidating to be that close to music industry legends." Coaches Adam Levine and Blake Shelton watched in amazement as the two "battled" for the young artist. "this is no longer a care bear wrestling match" said Adam, implying that Gwen and Pharrell hadn't fought over an artist like this in the shows history. Madi Davis promptly chose Pharrell after Adam jokingly requested they "step away from the artist".
Davis' rendition of Carole King's "It's Too Late" was made available on iTunes Monday and quickly broke thru the top 100 songs on the iTunes Pop Chart.
"I'm blessed and grateful to have this opportunity to work with Pharrell, the band and vocal coach, Trelawny," on this season of The Voice. (more on this season of The Voice click here)
